Holy Cow! Dean's 9!

So if you have read my Facebook posts, today my little Dean-O is 9 years old.  In preparation for his birthday, I asked him what kind of cake he wanted.  He, like me, is not a big sweets eater.  We can take them or leave them.  So usually on our birthdays we forego the cake.  Last year we had blue cupcakes, and I was anticipating something similar.  But to my surprise, he asked for cookies.  He said he wanted them to taste like a chocolate dipped strawberry, like the ones we get at Godiva.  (????)

So, I had recipes for every type of cookie known to man, but not these.  So to aide my search off to Pinterest I go.

While I was searching the voluminous postings in Pinterest, Abby Palmeter posted the photo below.  I thought ah ha!  Clicked on it, and viola!  I had my recipe.  (Link is embedded in photo)  

So the strawberry chocolate chip cookies are a success.  I have made a similar cookie using Devil's Food Cake Mix, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to use Strawberry.  But, I agree with Dean, they taste like a big chocolate dipped strawberry.  Not bad if I do say so myself.  

Mine didn't come out quite this pink, they are a little bit more brown, but still very good.  So thank you Pinterest, you saved my day!
